تنطلق اليوم الثانى عشر من ديسمبر 2023 من العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن المنصة الرقمية ل SBC، المؤسسة الإعلامية السودانية العامة المستقلة التى ستقدم عبر بثها التلفزيوني المرتقب و منصتها الرقمية محتوى راقيا فى الإعلام والتعليم والترفيه، وتعمل على خلق إرتباط عميق مع المتلقي، وتمكينه من الحصول على معلومات متنوعة ومعارف تثري حياة الأفراد والأسر والمجتمعات وذلك من خلال بحثها عن الحقيقة ورواية القصة الخبرية.
يترجم ميلاد SBC الرؤية التى طرحتها لحظة تعيينى مديرا عاما للهيئة العامة للإذاعة والتلفزيون فى السادس من فبراير 2020 وهى إنهاء سيطرة الحكومة على الإعلام وتحويل المؤسسات الإعلامية الحكومية إلى مؤسسات عامة مستقلة يملكها المجتمع وتمارس عملها بحرية مطلقة وفق المبادئ والمعايير التحريرية التي تحكم عمل الإعلام وقد اقتربنا فى عهد حكومة الفترة الإنتقالية من إجازة قانون الهيئة العامة للإذاعة والتلفزيون ولكن وقوع إنقلاب الخامس والعشرين من أكتوبر 2021 حال دون بلوغ تلك الغاية.
عند إندلاع الحرب فى الخامس عشر من أبريل 2023 توقفت عن العمل لأشهر عدة جميع أجهزة الإعلام السودانية الرسمية والخاصة (صحافة وإذاعة وتلفزيون) ولم يباشر معظمها العمل حتى الآن، أدى ذلك إلى خلو السودان من مؤسسات إعلامية سودانية وبالتالى غياب تغطية إعلامية سودانية عالمة بتفاصيل الأحداث وقادرة على تقديم أخبار وتقارير يومية دقيقة عن طبيعة الصراع ومآلاته والمآسي الإنسانية التي تصنعها الحرب كل يوم. هذا فتح بدوره المجال واسعا لنشر الشائعات والأكاذيب التى خلقت واقعا افتراضيا غير موجود وفتح المجال لتقارير متضاربة ترد تباعا من طرفي الحرب ليحتكر العسكريون المتحاربون وحدهم كل الرؤى التى تحدد مستقبل السودان فى حالتى الحرب والسلم وتشكل واقع حجب صوت صاحب المصلحة وهو المواطن السودانى بكل الآمال والطموحات التى ينشدها.
إن الحرب المستمرة وسلوك طرفيها تجاه الإعلام والإعلاميين جعل من السودان بيئة يصعب فيها تأسيس أو إدارة أو ممارسة عمل إعلامي يتمتع بالإستقلال والحرية والفاعلية ولم يكن ذلك ممكنا فى المستقبل المنظور٠
بعد عودتي إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فى السابع من مايو 2023 شرعت مباشرة فى وضع رؤية مفاهيمية لإحياء المؤسسة الإعلامية العامة المستقلة، في الأول من سبتمبر الماضي بدأنا رسميا خطوات التنفيذ واليوم الثاني عشر من ديسمبر 2023 أى قبل أسبوع واحد من حلول الذكرى الخامسة لثورد ديسمبر تنطلق المنصة الرقمية لقناة SBC الفضائية.
تلتزم SBC بمعايير تحريرية تعتمد الدقة والنزاهة والإنصاف وعدم الانحياز والثقة، ومصلحة الجمهور مبادئ أساسية فى تقديم محتوى إخباري وبرامجي يرنو للامتياز. ولتحقيق تلك الغاية، تعتمد SBC على عملِ صحفيين متخصصين ذوي خبرة، وتسعى لاعتماد مساهمين خبراء، يقدمون إضافات قيمة للقضايا المطروحة خلال ساعات البث.
توجه SBC بثها التلفزيوني، ومحتوى منصتها الرقمية بصورة أساسية، إلى جمهورٍ يعيش فى دولةٍ تشهد حرباً مدمرةً بعد ثورة عظيمة، مما يحتم عليها التركيز على صناعة محتوى يسهم فى وقفِ الحرب وإنهائها، وبلوغِ التعافي وتحقيق العدالة والعدالة الانتقالية والاستقرار وإبقاء جذوة ثورة ديسمبر الخالدة وقضايا والبناء الوطني والتحول الديمقراطي حية و متقدة, وتحرص SBC على صناعة محتوى يعكس تنوع السودان الثقافي، والإثني، والديني، والمناطقي.
فى الوقت نفسه، تسعى SBC إلى تناول قضايا العالم وأفريقيا والشرق الأوسط، والاقتصاد والصحة والتكنولوجيا والابتكار، وربط مشاهديها بعالم أصبح مكانا واحدا.
إن التطور المذهل والمتسارع فى وسائل نقل المحتوى يحتم على SBC إعداد محتواها الإخباري البرامجي على نحو يضمن له الانتشار عبر كل الوسائط الرقمية المتاحة. وبالقدر الذي أثر ذلك التطور على طريقة تقديم الخبر، ستقوم SBC بشرح الأحداث وبواعث حدوثها وأثرها فى حياة الأفراد والمجتمعات.
ستعتمد SBC في برامجها التفاعل وسيلةً للتواصل مع جمهور مشاهديها، وتتيح لهم فرصاً للإسهام بآرائهم فى برامجها المختلفة لبلورة إرتباطٍ مثمرٍ يسهم فى تطوير المحتوى.

Today, on the 12th of December, 2023, in Washington, DC, the SBC’s digital platform will go live. SBC is an independent Sudanese media institution that will provide high-end content in media, education, and entertainment through its upcoming television broadcast and digital platforms. The aim is to create a deep connection with its audience, enabling them to obtain information. SBC will offer diversified knowledge to enrich the lives of Sudanese individuals, families, and communities. The focus is on searching for the truth and telling news stories.
The establishment of SBC embodies the vision I articulated at the time of my appointment as Director General of the General Authority for Sudanese Radio and Television on February 6th, 2020. The vision aimed to terminate government control over the media and convert government media institutions into independent public entities owned by citizens. These entities would exercise journalism with absolute freedom, adhering to editorial principles and standards governing media work.
We were on the verge of achieving these goals. The transitional government successfully passed the General Authority for Radio and Television law. However, the coup on October 25th, 2021, prevented the realization of this objective.
When the war broke out on April 15th, 2023, virtually all official and private Sudanese media outlets—press, radio, and television—ceased operations for several months. As of now, most of them have not resumed work. This has left Sudan without its usual media institutions, resulting in the absence of independent Sudanese media coverage capable of understanding the intricacies of the conflict and providing accurate daily news and reports on its nature, outcomes, and the human tragedies unfolding each day.
This vacuum has created fertile ground for the proliferation of rumors and falsehoods, constructing a virtual reality that deviates from the actual situation. Conflicting reports from both sides of the war have further muddled the information landscape. As a consequence, the warring military has monopolized the narrative, controlling the visions that shape Sudan’s future in both times of war and peace. This reality has effectively silenced the voice of the stakeholders—the Sudanese citizens—along with all their hopes and ambitions.
The ongoing war and the behavior of both sides toward the media and media professionals have created an environment in Sudan where establishing, managing, or practicing independent, free, and effective media work has become difficult and seems unlikely in the foreseeable future. After my return to the United States of America on May 7th, 2023, we immediately began developing the conceptual vision for reviving an independent media institution. On September 1, we officially commenced the implementation steps, and today on the 12th of December , 2023, one week before the fifth anniversary of the December Revolution, the SBC’s digital platform is live.
SBC is committed to editorial standards that rely on accuracy, integrity, fairness, impartiality, trust, and the interest of the public as fundamental principles in providing news and programming content that aspires to excellence. To achieve this goal, SBC relies on the work of specialized, experienced journalists, and seeks to adopt expert contributors who provide valuable additions to the issues raised during broadcast hours.
SBC will direct its television broadcasts and the content of its digital platforms primarily toward an audience living in a country witnessing a devastating war following a significant revolution. This necessitates a focus on creating content that contributes to stopping and ending the war, achieving recovery, justice, transitional justice, and stability. Furthermore, SBC aims to keep alive the flame of the eternal December Revolution and ensure that democratic transformation remains alive and active. SBC is keen on creating content that reflects Sudan’s cultural, ethnic, religious, and regional diversity.
At the same time, SBC seeks to address issues of the world, Africa, the Middle East, the economy, health, technology, and innovation, connecting its viewers to a world.
The amazing and rapid development in content transmission requires SBC to prepare its programmatic news content in a way that ensures it spreads across all available digital media. Given the impact of this development on the way news is presented, SBC will explain the events, the reasons behind their occurrence, and their impact on the lives of individuals and communities.
In its programs, SBC will adopt interaction as a means of communicating with its audience, providing them with opportunities to contribute their opinions to its various programs. This approach aims to develop a fruitful relationship that contributes to the development of our content.
